Universities Caribbean’s Secretariat fulfills the central administrative duties for the successful operation of the Association.

Dr. Myriam Moïse – Université des Antilles - General Secretary

Dr. Myriam Moïse is an Associate Professor at Université des Antilles in Martinique, a permanent researcher at the Caribbean Social Sciences Research Unit (LC2S/CNRS-UMR 8053) and a 2019-2020 Fulbright Research Fellow. In 2018, she was appointed Secretary-General of Universities Caribbean, the organization of Caribbean Universities and Research Institutes (formerly UNICA).

She holds a Doctorate in Anglophone Studies from Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, and a PhD in Literatures in English from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Secretary General is the Executive Officer of the Association and ex officio member of the Executive Committee.

 

Denesha Bailey is a Programme Officer at the Regional Headquarters of The University of the West Indies (The UWI), and holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development. She was officially appointed to the Secretariat in 2019.

The Programme officer is the main administrative staff of the Association and assists the Secretary General with efficient discharge of the Association’s administrative and operational functions.

 

 

Laura Suazo is a professor and the Director for University Social Responsibility at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra – (PUCMM), Dominican Republic. She was appointed to the Universities Caribbean Secretariat in 2019.

She holds a Master’s degree in Methodology of Behavioral and Health Sciences from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) in Spain.

The Digital Communication officer leads the digital communication unit to boost the Association’s global visibility and international profile.

 

Elica Ras-Fullinck

Membership Officer (English and Spanish Territories)

Elica Ras-Fullinck is the manager of the Student Affairs and International Office at the University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez (UoC). In 2019 she was appointed to the Universities Caribbean Secretariat.

She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Curaçao Dr. Moises da Costa Gomez.

The Membership Officer assists the Secretariat in acting as the primary interface between Universities Caribbean and its members.
