Membership

The Association offers multiple packages that define and distinguish different types of members.

There shall be three (3) categories of membership:

Voting Membership.

This category of membership shall be open to all accredited institutions at university level, and to research institutes and centres in the Caribbean.

Associate Membership

This category of membership shall be open to all university level institutions outside the Caribbean that have academic commitments to the Caribbean.

Affiliate Membership.

This category of membership shall be open to other regional associations and organizations with objects and purposes similar to those of Universities Caribbean.

Research Institutes and Centres that are part of Member universities shall not be eligible for separate membership in the Association.

Universities, institutes and associations whose objects and purposes are consistent with those of Universities Caribbean may apply or be invited to apply for membership of UC, and UC shall, at its Annual General Meeting on the recommendation of the Executive Committee, determine in each case whether the application shall be accepted.

Any member which desires to terminate its membership of the Association shall provide three (3) months’ notice in writing to the Secretary General of the Association.

To become a member and to retain the right of membership there shall be a membership fee and an annual renewal fee, the level of such fees to be determined by the Association at its Annual General Meeting on the recommendation of the Executive Committee.
